INTRODUCTION

The Life Hood for Children and Development Society (LICHIDE) has developed the second Strategic Plan 2022 – 2027 following the expiring of the first Strategic Plan 2018 – 2022.

This Strategic Plan will help to ensure that an organization remains relevant and responsible to the needs of its community and contributes to organizational stability and growth. It provides a basis for Monitoring progress and for accessing results and impact. It also facilitates new program development. It enables an organization to look into the future in an orderly and systematic way.

From a governance perspective, it enables the board to set priorities and goals to guide the organization, and provides a clear focus to the Executive Director and staff for program implementation and agency management.

The organization has devoted in preparation of the five years strategic plan with confidence to the existing stable political, economic and social environment in Tanzania. However, the planning took the assumptions that the organization will continue to exist in the next five years and that most of key staff and Board Leadership will continue to be affiliated with the organization. This Strategic Plan is a product of a cooperative effort made between board and staff with a special strategic planning committee of board members and staff taking responsibility for the effort.

Preparation of this strategic plan is based on long experience the organization has since its establishment in 1998 and successes and challenges which were experienced during the implementation of the first strategic plan.

LICHIDE’s mission of this current strategic plan is “contributing to improving the livelihood of women and children in Tanzania”.
To achieve this mission, is now guided by three objectives;

3. To establish platforms for socio-development include entrepreneurial project for women, Most Vulnerable Children guardians and people living with HIV and AIDS in Tanzania.
